Karl Overgaard is a brilliant little boy of just six. He lives in Silkeborg, Denmark, along with his mother, Karen and grandmother, Amanda. Following some strange events (the birthmark behind his neck which, inexplicably, begins to bleed and the horrifying vision of a dragon outside his bedroom window), Karl suddenly disappears.
Inspector Johan Kallen takes charge of the investigation, believing Karen, due to the strange mental disorders that afflict her, the main suspect in the disappearance of the child.
Karl's fate is linked to that of Ambra, a young girl from Castaryus. Here, in this small world dispersed in the galaxy of Ursantia, they will suffer the persecution of Heleniae, a wicked and merciless sorceress with unlimited powers who longs for absolute domination. To conquer this supremacy, the bloody witch will have to take possession of the beating hearts of the child and the young Ambra, to be sacrificed during a sacrificial rite. This will allow her to destroy the Dragon, the almighty deity of Castaryus who has ruled over all peoples for over two thousand years. What can two worlds so different and so distant have in common?
The stories of kings, magicians and strong warriors revolve around the magic of landscapes and fantastic creatures, love stories that fascinate, adventures that leave you breathless. Will despair drive a mother to madness (is she really crazy or has she become aware of the world in which her child has been transported and wants to go at all costs to get him back?) And there will be the commitment of those who, to protect Ambra and the little Karl, they will not spare themselves in the struggle by putting their own lives on the line.
